ESC 2009 (first half, Albania and Ireland)

Eight weeks until the ESC 2009th I will now look at me once the first half of the participants only once / listen, read the background on the artists and then write my first impression of the contributions.

Albania Kejsi Tola - Carry Me in Your Dreams
The only interesting thing here is that Kejsi Tola is the youngest participant this year. Otherwise this is an unspectacular pop song.

Andorra: Susan George - La Teva Decisió
Would not this song in Catalan, one could hold him for the Swedish contribution. Standardpop number two. Susanne Georgi had in the nineties with her sister under the band name Me & My "a hit with" Dub-I-Dub ", the Danish-born but now lives in 13 years in Andorra.

Armenia: Inga & Anush - Jan Jan
One is a classically trained violinist, the other is trained jazz pianist. What could be more natural than to let the two Caucasian ethno-pop sing? Cruel, just cruel.

Azerbaijan: AySel & Arash - Always
nineteen year-old music student plus the Iran-born, living in Sweden, composer, Songwriter and producer (with Azerbaijan's ancestors) plus good-mood-claim little love song = success? We will see.

Belarus: Petr Elfimov - Eyes that never lie
the first rock song, but: we are talking about Belarus, that in itself is of lesser quality. And this low quality is thus reduced even further, that Elfimov sings in English without it can, by the way looks like Dieter Thomas Kuhn and a white suit in the seventies-style with that is open to the navel. What is missing is the chest hair toupee ...

Belgium: Copycat - Copycat
Elvis lives! In any case, it is a fun rockabilly song that directly goes into the legs. But still you always have the feeling that one has heard before - and that's exactly what Patrick Ouchene alias Copycat purpose and what could help him.

Bosnia-Herzegovina: Regina - Bistra Voda
No, Regina is not a singer but a band of four boys. Similarly confusing as this fact is also the contribution that combines the typical heavy Balkan ballad with a march rhythm. And even if the look fits the song so that is by no means a good result for the last quite spoiled Bosnians.

Bulgaria: Krassimir Avramov - Illusion
Slovenia was two years ago with a Blend of opera and dance by his standards successfully and now you try this in Bulgaria sometimes. Only has Krassimir Avramov not the quality of Alenka Gotar and tried it also in English - and he can just as the White Russian. A final participation would be a huge surprise.

Croatia: Igor Cukrov feat. Andrea - Liepa Tena
and the next Balkan ballad, this time completely in style from a mixed duet and (if one starts from the preliminary round), even with rhythmic gymnastics in the background. Croatia aims with great perfection aim to get points from the neighbors, but otherwise disappear in the gray middle of the finale.

Cyprus: Christina Metaxa - Firefly
Cyprus tried it with a rock ballad, which is quite nice to listen. Unfortunately this is not enough even more than the usual 12 points from Greece and perhaps a small animal children's bonus for the seventeen year-old Christina.

Czech Republic: Gipsy.cz - Aven Romale
the first comedy act and immediately a rather wild. Four traditional musicians and in addition a rapper who was put in a skin tight red suit and that includes a matching cape with. Unfortunately, his English is not understood, but what could be called before the "Gipsy" background or as appropriate.

Denmark: Brinck - Believe Again
is one of Denmark had been used to really high-quality pop, and since making this year's review totally no exception. In addition, the Danes have managed to get a very prominent and experienced writers and composers to the team: Ronan Keating! Why he did such a promising song in Denmark takes place at home in Ireland, you want to please explain to me again.

Estonia: Urban Symphony - Rändajad
hach ... garnished the whole thing in Estonian and electro beats, two cellists, two violinists (one of which is also the lead singer) and two background singers. For those who are here on the contributions feeling of Neiokösö (2004) or Urban Trad (2003) recalls, may be right - and who knows my opinion about these two bands can also imagine what I think of these ladies here.

Finland: Waldo's People - Lose Control
Finland has so far had success with the ESC twice: with Hard Rock and Heavy Metal Lordi from Teräsbetöni. So what you send out this year? Clearly, Dance-pop fresh from the tip of the Scandinavian club charts. Sounds very exciting and likely to remain in the finals will again.

France: Patricia Kaas - Et s'il fallait le faire
wow. The great Patricia Kaas occurs for France with a very classic song from. For the "old" fans like me * g *, for example, of course a special treat, whether France, however, can back with such nostalgia points from Eastern or Southeastern Europe, I doubt it.

Macedonia: Next Time - Neshto Shto Ke Ostan
quite straightforward rock sounds from Skopje, Macedonia's preliminary decision in the recording of very professional. Definitely has potential to reach the finals and be better to cut than Bosnia and Croatia.

Germany: Alex Swings, Oscar Sings! - Miss Kiss Kiss Bang
and we had so hoped someone would have the NDR from the embarrassment with Romanian voice cucumber named Roger Cicero learned something. But far from it: Now they send Alex Christensen with an American singer whom no one knew before, according to a further swing number Moscow. The result will also be getting worse rather than better.

Greece: Sakis Rouvas - This Is Our Night
Sakis Rouvas, the third-place finisher in 2004, is back. In contrast to "Shake it" is his this year's Song Sirtaki-heavy and less but more to arrange in the club scene. Here, too, should be a good place in the finals to be there.

Hungary: Adok Zoli - Dance with me
and even a club number, which is now rather less from Hungary expected to have especially as the song is completely in English. Zoli Adok should neither vocally nor dance have problems with his performance, he has more than 500 appearances 2004-2007 had in the musical "Fame" in Basel and "Cats" in Berlin and is currently the Levi AndrewLLoydWebbers "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat "in Hungary. Also in: Final of potential.

Iceland: Yohanna - Is it true?
ESC classic ballad, nothing exciting. Accordingly, the Icelandic low chance of a finals.

Ireland: Sinead Mulvey & Black Daisy - Et Cetera
Girl Rock from Ireland, also something new. Quite funny, if rather shallow little song, but after Dustin the turkey in the RTÉ officials probably realized that satire does not and you should prefer a simple, non-political send to Moscow.

This was the first half of the participants, the second half of Israel to the UK there tomorrow or the day after.
